5. Seydou Keita - Not as glamorous as the other midfielders on this list, Keita’s trophy haul is, nonetheless, almost unparalleled within an African context. The Malian may have struggled to drag a talented Eagles side to success in continental competition, but he won three La Ligas, two Spanish Cups and two Champions League titles during his time with Barcelona’s dream team. He was pipped by Toure to the African Footballer of the Year award in 2011, but Pep Guardiola described him, glowingly, as the “best thing” that happened to him during his Barca years.
